Rosa Parks: It Has All Been Said - So Let Us Ponder.
Rosa Parks: There is nothing to say that hasn't been said. To be courageous enough, to respect oneself enough to stand up and say I don't deserve this, we don't deserve this To unknowingly( or not) start a movement which would, at least, be the beginning of the end. To be willing to go there despite the risks That is courage And let us not forget that she did this intentionally and with purpose. It did not just happen. She is a hero.

I saw her obit this morning on the news and wept.
I am a proud graduate of one of the Brown v. Board high schools, integrated because of the actions of people like Parks, King, Marshall, Evars, etc. Without her actions, I'm sure America would still be on that highway to Jim Crow hell.
Sad day indeed.
It is so.
Would that all who are wronged should show such resolve
Well said.
unknowingly ( or not) ?
rest her soul and please if not too inconvenient send us another one like her.
Well put, Alice. And amen.
God Bless her. She lived a long life and will be remembered well on this earth.
Peace..............
Will you do my funeral?
short and to the point
Karma = life for life, ninety two years of it.
Living down here increases one's respect for her. Not because of racism, since that's everywhere, but because there is a lot of emphasis on the idea that everyone should go along and get along rather than disrupt our appearance of being a big happy family by pointing out our dysfunctions. Rosa Parks was up against that as well as the more obvious.
Most people do not even really get the courage of a lot of things that went on back then, they don't think and they don't listen.
Indeed!
