We Are Nowhere and It's Now

The near orgasmic way some guys are discussing the return of hockey has given me the creeps. News summary for the week: No child left behind - Not No Bling - No Biggy Miers- Outta here. Please start handing out those indictments now.

She has given in to the gray days of now; the gray blends in better with the buildings in her city so it's as it should be. She is a gray girl anyway, and that's not bad. She used to think that it would be nice to be a red/green or a yellow/ orange girl, but she didn't have the disposition for it so gave in and remained the gray girl. The gray girl knows that reason and rationality are culturally dependent but worries, as her own cultural relativity has become a cultural surreal relativity ; therefore she vows not to read the New York Times for at least a week.

The NHL is shit anyway. Your hockerotic friends will soon find themselves with a serious case of blueballs as they are reminded of that

And yeah, that's how I see the news too.

I like the piece a lot. I'd say I'm sort of bluish-gray.

Wow, Wombat! I'd say grayish-blue.

Greenish, usually. I love the post, Alice.

I guess Hockey can be an aphrodisiac as much as an oyster can be, but you don't have swallow the puck to feel the love. Hockey Schmockey!

Speaking of hockey I'm headed to a scrimmage here in an hour or so.

If I had to think about it, which I never would have had you not mentioned it, I would consider myself of a maroon disposition.

Nice going; cultural surreal relativity - perfect.

I don't understand the appeal of team sports. Let alone hockey.

Me vs. an environment brings me more joy than any of those team sports combined. How fast can I get around this lake? How many times can I circle downtown on my rollerblades without stopping at a light. I prefer to test my own ability, not compare it to anothers.

I tend to rant, sorry.

I like hockey, though it's not my favorite sport. I just think of it as the ultimate expression of Man's competitive nature. When it's going good there isn't a better team sport out there for demonstrating our need to challenge ourselves. It doesn't restrict physical contact, it encourages it. And it doesn't have any complex rules. Put the puck in the net=one point is pretty much all you need to understand about it--not like football and baseball where you really need to understand all the jargon to get an idea about the essence of the sport.

Don't get me wrong--I love Football and Baseball, but there's something clean and simple about Hockey. Hockey is more of an instinctual sport than a formalized one (except for the whole ice skating part). What's more instinctual than picking up sticks and going to battle?

Wombat: i like the term hockeyeterotic, thanks I will keep it with me always.

Doug: greenish eh? was thinking more a black red combo.

Bizman: baseball and eroctica don't seem to mix.

Theresa: always the most astute.

John: yeah

Jake: sorry about the yellow boy thing.

rahx: ranters are welcome, there seem to be a lot of them around here myself included. I don't really get the team thing either which is why I quit playing soccer.
I prefer a snowboord a body board or even running.

wombat: your always bad

Jake: I never went to a capitals game.

graham: i am sure it's soccer for you, England knows no other... a travesty will have occured should they confirm that not quite qualified individual.

MoJo: I would have figrued you for a baseball guy, hockey is very simple and for some reason I think hockey = simpleminded. I know that is not the case and I used to go to semi pro hockey games a lot when younger as between Australia I lived in Vermont and hockey is huge in New Enlgand. In Maryland though it was not all that big although my brothers private school had a hockey team my public school did not and it did not and the club teams did not draw that big a crowd.

Rexy: You always show up directly after posting erotic poetry and photos. Why is that. ;)

I'm sorry..I like but I have no comment, so I'm sorry...

-Insert witty comment here...

Then say to yourself:" UH-huh , he couldn't think of anything so he put that insert thing there like everyone else then in turn pointed out the obvious as if that's surposed to make it better, but at least he tried. But damn it, he's wasted my time, what an asshole."

Don't get team sports myself; well, I do some but they bore me

Gray is good, very good

There have been many times I have given up The Times because of its inherent superiority and fabulous quota, but now that it's chic to boycott because they supported Judith Miller though they couldn't mind read and thus couldn't know her thoughts or interviews, I won't.

But I love Times bashing from a New York liberal not a redneck idiot

Near orgasmic about...hockey?!?! Must be the cold winters...or the gentle seductive curves of a bunch of overpaid Eastern European men in protective gear ;-)

I like the grey girl thing...I've been accused of wearing too much gray and blue. But hey, I like blue and gray. And I'm learning that I don't like this cold overcast weather anymore...need sun.

PIA:Actually I was giving it up due to the fact that it puts me in a totally confused position most of the time. They seem to be confused as to what they are sometimes. I'm confused enough to need to not read too much when I am making my mind up on certain things. In order to answer your other question(I don't don't where it went it's probably on the post below this one), I don't know why I get nasty/weird comments and or email I am the nicest person in the world. I know I used to get them on Deadjournal back in high school as well only they were from my friends. :)

OK , I'm not the nicest person in the world but whatever I 'm not really that bad.

Zenpro: I bet it gets depressing out there in Ohio, at least here we have the buildings and the masses.

You know, I don't think I'd want to hang out with the nicest person in the world. Unless I could get him/her drunk. Then it would be pretty goddamned hilarious.

Good thing our genius in the executive branch makes up for the mediocrities on the Court!
I have to put a word in for the No Child Left Behind Act, though, since it's responsible for reinstating the Music major here at Veryred U.

Wombat is evil. He linked to that comic, and then I stayed up until 2 AM reading the whole thing from the start. Then got up at 6 so I could teach at 8. Plus I hadn't read what I assigned and had to fake it.

Bad Wombat!! Go to Alice's room!!

I oppose the Harriet Miers nomination too, and I think you wrapped it up in a tight little package.

Gray girls, gray days; that was very cleverly put.

I think of myself as running the gamut from dark to pale blue depending on the day.
