Sitting , Waiting, Wishing

I promised myself I wouldn't look at this blog while I'm gone. I'm not gone yet, no matter how hard some of you are trying to get rid of me, so ya the point is moot. Ive been up since seven reading blogs. I'm off to get waxed soon like the boards I play with only different, as an unplanned trip to the Pacific mandates it, wish me luck. I have never been to these people before and believe me they can damage you in ways you don't even want to imagine. I am on standby for a flight tomorrow but my flight is scheduled to leave Saturday. If I go Saturday I go alone due to the fact that I was not planning to partake in this little vacation originally; I was planning a couple weeks on another type of board. For some reason there are a lot of people flying to Hawaii this time of year so it is not as easy as one might think to get a flight. I only hope that I do not have to sit near someone coughing and hacking up massive amounts of green snot all the way to Hawaii. I have ripped and transferred The Classic Quartet- complete Impulse Studio Recording - Coltrane to my I-pod along with everything Jack Johnson just to get me in the mood. My work is done.

Good luck with the standbye. I've never really understood how that worked, really, but I bet it works for you. If not, you still get a nice long nap before the surfing begins.

see, no waxing comment. wait, does that one count? dammit!

Huh. Knowing you'd be around to read it would probably have been the lynchpin to overcome my laziness and post the thing I was thinking of writing. 'tever.

Good luck with the standby. And the waxing. Of course (well I guess it's not really all that obvious), the former is the only one I can speak for. I agree 100% with Douglas Adam's take on the matter.

It can hardly be a coincidence that no language or culture in human history has ever produced the phrase "as pretty as an airport." Airports are ugly. Some are very ugly. Still others are ugly to the point that it seems to be the result of special effort...

Bon Voyage and all that

Thanks for sticking around, Alice. That's the best I can do with waxing jokes.

coyote: counts more than you can guess.

wombat: thanks, airports are ugly and I'll be in a more than couple. Honolulu's is not bad though.

Doug: I have no choice really in regard to sticking around...that was very good...for you.

I wish I could travel like you. I think I'm going to be stuck in middle America forever.

Have fun on your travels, stay safe and don't drink the water.

I'm not even going to touch the waxing comment :)

Happy New Year

If the worst thing you do while on vacation is spend some relaxing time reading some blogs, well then, poo.

I wonder if I should get a waxing before I head west in a few days... hmmm....

Hey, have an awesome vacation, chica.

Waxing = pain. Watched the 40-Year-Old Virgin this morning, saw this post, went fetal due to PEGFMW (Post Ex Girlfriend Mandated Waxing) flashbacks.

Enjoy Oahu. Very nice this time of year :)

Hope the waxing went well... I had one bad experience (Oh my gosh... I am cringing as I write this) needless to say, I never got waxed again. Girl get the laser hair removal... it's wonderful, no more shaving! It is well worth the price. :)

I hope you get the flight for tomorrow... and hope that their are NO over sized men caughing up green snot sitting beside you.

Happy New Year!!!!

mj: Middle America..hum..I haven't spent much time there. Maybe when I get back you will have decided to write something.

Same to you MJ Happy Happy.

dan: probably, nothing like a good waxing to clear the sinuses. Have fun on your trip.

zenpro: thanks zenpro, 40 year old virgin was a weird movie. Yes I love Oahu it's like the fourth time I've been there.

rio: tangled webs... nothing like them eh? Who is cooper? My question exactly.

daybyday: The waxing was fine, they fed me fruit...lol. I only get it done twice a year or so Im relatively light on the hair ...after a few waxes it just doesn't come back. Not so sure about the flight it does not look good at this exact time as there are fifteen people in front of me. I dont mind flying alone but I think if I dont get on someone is going to give up their ticket to fly with me.

spiritdancer: thanks...indeed I'm sure I'll take a peek but you never know.

Damn, life sucks.

Cherish what you have and have what you cherish.

Stalk Jack Johnson he lives in Northern Oahu...sing with him. Surf with the surfers, dance with the dancers and party hard. There will be someone to carry you home don't worry.

Im not too down with the tailored look.

Turn your away message off.

Hope your flight goes well and that flying by yourself isn't as much of a downer as you make it out to be. I fly a lot by myself and have always used the occasion to make new friends (and enemies). I always find myself talking to people I normally wouldn't be talking to if I had the security blanket of a couple of friends around me.

Relish the opportunity.

Thanks mojo I'm dragging my ass to the airport this afternoon just to see if I actually get on the flight, otherwise I'm back here ...waiting alone..sort of...to head out tomorrow. I usually sleep on flights as I become a little antisocial.

dedd: Coltran, yeah I received a compilation of sorts for my last birthday. It's awesome stuff really.

Oh, you love Coltrane do you? Well my estimation of you has just gone through the roof! I've got the same Impulse on my iPod, and the Supreme Love I feel for his great soul and monstrous musical abilities knows no bounds. Today I downloaded Jack Johnson's "A Weekend at the Greek" from iTunes. As he's also a UCSB alumnus like me, your inclusion of him in the same paragraph makes the connection all the more interesting. But then again, Hawaii is volcanic.
